Just this week, Wachovia said it will pay about another $325 million to individual ARS investors in Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, corporations and CFOs still have to deal with assessing and valuing these illiquid securities every quarter. Any hope on the horizon?

You know, it's amazing to me that this stuff is still hanging around on people's balance sheets. I mean, just how much corporate cash was invested in these things? Even Megan Johnston didn't get to the bottom of that at our old mothership. Why don't you look into it for an article, Hil?

Ahh, the things people would invest in while chasing a little extra yield. I like an extra 25 bps as much as the next guy on my cash, but everyone that invested in ARS got what they deserved. Lesson learned, I hope.

Didn't know how? If they were fraudulently misled, that's one thing and they should have some recourse. If they claim they didn't know what they were investing in, I don't see that as a legitimate excuse coming from a finance pro. It's their job to know.
