Good news for companies with poor environmental performance and policies:  Turns out, you may not  have to worry as much about activist institutional investors as you might have thought. 

Some background: Newsweek just released ground-breaking rankings of the environmental record of 500 major companies.  (Top four: Hewlett Packard, Dell, Johnson & Johnson and Intel. Bottom four, from least bad to worst:  ConAgra Foods, Allegheny Energy, NRG Energy and Peabody Energy).
