UAL, parent company of United Airlines, and Continental Airlines jointly announced that Continental CFO Zane Rowe will serve as chief
financial officer when the two airlines merge, as part of a wider announcement detailing the key management roles for the combined company. UAL CFO Kathryn Mikells will step down when the deal is completed.
Rowe joined Continental in 1993 and has served as executive vice president and CFO since August 2008.
Mikells, who joined United in 1994, has been CFO of UAL and United since November 2008.
General Growth Properties, the bankrupt mall operator, appointed Steven Douglas executive vice president and CFO. He replaces interim CFO Ed Hoyt, who had held
the position since 2008. Douglas was previously president of Brookfield Properties, where he spent most of his 16 years as CFO.
Supervalu announced the resignation of CFO Pamela Knous. She had held the position since 1997. Sherry Smith, senior vice president of finance
will serve as finance chief in the interim for the grocery company.
Allegheny Technologies promoted Richard Harshman to the new position of president and COO. Harshman has served as CFO of the maker of the specialty metals
producer since 2001.
Charter Communications, a cable operator, named senior vice president, controller and chief accounting officer Kevin Howard as interim CFO,
while it continues to search for a replacement for exiting vice president and CFO Eloise Schmitz.
Southern named Art Beattie as executive vice president and CFO and treasurer. Beattie previously was executive vice president, CFO and treasurer of Alabama Power. He will
oversee the utility's accounting, finance, tax, investor relations, treasury and risk management functions.
CAMAC Energy promoted Abiola Lawal to executive vice president and CFO, after serving as interim CFO since May 17.
Moses Cone Health System promoted Ken Boggs to CFO and treasurer. He was promoted from vice president of supply chain. He joined Moses Cone as an
assistant director of financial services in 1985 and has served in vice president roles in patient care management, quality and supply chain for the
Greensboro health system.
AFI promoted Vice President of Finance Arlen Briggs to CFO and treasurer. Prior to joining Armed Forces Insurance, Briggs spent six years
with Universal Underwriters Group.
oDesk Corp. named Nilesh Lakhani as its first chief financial officer. Lakhani was CFO at Yandex, a Russian search engine, and he was also
CFO at CTC Media before joining the technology company.
Citizens Business Bank announced that Edward Biebrich, Jr., executive vice president and CFO for the bank and CVB Financial, will retire at year-end.
Amica Mutual Insurance appointed James Loring CFO. He was formerly senior vice president and CFO at Savings Bank Life Insurance of Massachusetts.
Taleo's CFO Katy Murray will leave October 1. She has served as the personnel software maker's CFO since 2006.
Atwood Oceanics said CFO James Holland is retiring and Mark Mey will be elected to take over as CFO and senior vice president of the
drilling contractor. Mey was senior vice president and CFO for Scorpion Offshore.
InfoSonics, a developer of wireless handset solutions, named Vernon LoForti CFO. He previously served in a number of executive positions at
Overland Storage, Inc., a supplier of data protection appliances.
Universal Stainless & Alloy Productsnamed Douglas McSorley CFO, vice president of finance and treasurer. Ronald Hauck, the company's controller, has served as the
steel products company's interim principal financial officer since the resignation of CFO and Treasurer Richard Ubinger in April. McSorley most
recently served as CFO of scrap metal recycling company PSC Metals.
Southwest Gasannounced the retirement of executive vice president, CFO and corporate secretary, George Biehl. Roy Centrella will be promoted to
senior vice president and CFO. He began his career with the company in 1983 as a supervisor in accounting. He has held various managerial and executive
roles in the organization.
Wastequip, manufacturer of waste handling equipment,named Steve Svetik CFO. He was most recently CFO of Valley National
Gases.
