Quick and Quality
Business leaders should have -- and communicate -- a clear purpose for IT initiatives and ensure that they deliver value early and often, writes Cramm. Encourage continuous dialogue within the team to promote IT products.
IT's role includes, again, hiring top talent maintaining a flexible system for deploying technology and staff so that approved projects can move forward without delay. Focus more on a series of smaller-scale projects -- say, a six-month undertaking, rather than embarking on some three-year odyssey. After all, says Cramm, "The way to solve a big problem is to solve a series of small ones."
