Apple may be enjoying a renaissance, but it has also been ensnared by a growing number of controversies. Here are seven.

Apple stalwarts may not want to hear it, but even in its current, top-of-the-world incarnation, the Cupertino company is not technically a force for good. Good design maybe, but not general benevolence.

From the blowup over the Google Voice rejection to allegedly combustible iPhones, Apple has found itself in the news a lot lately for the wrong reasons. That means, of course, that it's time to review some of the bigger flubs and dustups of the last couple years.

Mind you, we could delve farther back. Like any company that reaches a certain size, law suits and PR disasters are a fact of life. So are product misfires, and the company has seen its share -- just check out our list of ten bad Apples.

But we'll restrain ourselves to a handful of recent controversies. And before anyone starts feeling sorry for Apple, let's remember that the company just enjoyed one of its most stellar quarters.
